Specifications include, but are not limited to: STATE seeks proposals for the following: 1. Task 1: Literature and Geographic Data Review: In this task, desktop research will be implemented to characterize the fine-textured and their use for Onsite Wastewater Dispersal including prior studies in the Champlain Valley area as well as field methods used for the determination of Saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks), and methods to use that information to develop site specific Long Term Application Rates (LTAR) and Linear Loading Rates (LLR). 2. Task 2: Field work and data collection: In this task, practical field measurements for characterizing LTAR and/or LLR in fine-textured soils will be performed in order to come up with a practical tool to optimize the design of OWTS in these soils. 3. Task 3: Field data analysis and reporting: In this task, the field data collected in Task 2 will be analyzed and used to develop (i) criteria for the evaluation of the fine-textured soils and (ii) specific field techniques for characterizing Ks and its use in the determination of the LTAR and LLR that will be used to optimize the design of OWTS in these soils. 4. Task 4: Technology Transfer and Public Outreach: Develop, advertise, and deliver a series of engaging and informational field workshops and webinars for stakeholders.
