Specifications include, but are not limited to: 8.1 Assess the current state of KU’s international student recruiting and enrollment program including but not limited to: • Issuance and processing of Form I-20 (“Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status”), especially as it relates to the systems used to issue I-20s, transparency with students and other staff, communication and timeline for collection and review of financial documents • Efficacy of current marketing and communication efforts to students, agents and counselors • Minimum English proficiency requirements in comparison to norms of similar institutions 8.2 Make best practice recommendations for the following: • Issuance and processing of Form I-20 and related documentation • Timing as it relates to issuing Form I-20 to prospective students • Means of strengthening marketing and communication efforts for international recruiting, focusing on students, parents, agents and counselors, and suggestions for other parties • Setting appropriate English proficiency requirements • Processing international transfer credit evaluations • Effective Grade Point Average (GPA) calculation for international educational systems • Identifying, selecting, and properly incentivizing third-party recruiting agencies • Leveraging compensated agents and in-country representatives in comparison to peer institutions • Lead generation in international markets to develop an international student pipeline
