Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful candidate will provide global positioning system (GPS) tracks of each day hunted. The successful candidate will provide weekly phone calls or emails updating Department biologists of progress. At the end of each fiscal year the successful candidate will complete the “Annual Predator Management Project Reporting From”. The successful candidate will provide a report specifying the location of capture, the age and sex of the animal, the ID of collar deployed, and other pertinent biological information. Successful candidates and their employees may not provide guidance for big game animals in the State of Nevada while they have an active mountain lion removal and live capture contract. Successful candidates will notify the point of contact (POC) and area biologist by phone or email within 48 hours of capture or lethal removal of a mountain lion. The candidates must check in the removed mountain lion carcass or head and hide with the Department within one week of removal. Successful candidates will mark the location where mountain lions are lethally removed with GPS coordinates documented with a photograph of the GPS screen showing the date, time, and coordinate. These coordinates and photograph(s) must be provided to the POC and area biologist along with the additional take information within one week of lethal removal. Successful candidates must record and maintain a GPS track for areas they search for and hunt mountain lions. Each day’s GPS track must be accompanied by an invoice to receive payment. Successful candidates operating under authority of this contract must abide by all applicable laws, regulations, or ordinances, unless otherwise specified, and will be held personally responsible for any non-compliance. Wildlife taken under the authority of this contract is deemed to be property of the State of Nevada and must be surrendered as directed by the POC. Successful candidates are prohibited from maintaining any portion of wildlife taken under authority of this contract for personal or commercial use. Successful candidates are permitted to use trail cameras all year within the boundaries of the established project area, as needed for the purpose of identifying the presence of lions, but information obtained from the use of trail cameras may not be used in any way for personal hunting or professional guiding. The candidate’s identity and contract number must be legibly written or otherwise attached to any trail cameras. Failing to abide by any condition or stipulation of this contract may be grounds for cancelation of this contract. Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and be able to possess and use firearms.
