Specifications include, but are not limited to: Fuel delivered under contract shall conform to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard specification D-1655, latest revision, and shall be of the aviation kerosene type, “Jet – “A” or military JP-5, commercial grade meeting military specification US-MIL-T-5624; Fuel shall remain clear and bright as per ASTM D4166 during all phases of handling/transporting and shall be free from water, sediment, haze or emulsion; PI gravity shall be from 37 to 51 degrees F, corrected to 60 degrees F; In the event of a sudden change n API gravity, 1 degree or more, the contractor shall immediately stop delivery; DPS at its sole discretion may test or have individual delivery lots tested in order to determine clarity/purity (per ASTM D4166), API specific gravity (ANSI/ASTM D287). API Standard 2544 standard test method for API gravity of crude petroleum products (Hydrometer method, and free water – metrocator kit-ASTM D3240). Should DPS elect to perform testing, it shall be performed during lot delivery. Should an individual lot fail any portion of the above tests, delivery shall be discontinued and arrangement shall be made by the contractor for removal of delivered lot of fuel. All costs associated with delivery of non-compliant fuel lots, inclusive of removal from fuel tanks (proper remediation and cleaning) shall be borne by the contractor;
