Salem Area Mass Transit District (SAMTD) is soliciting proposals for the development of a Climate Action Plan (CAP). The SAMTD Climate Action Plan will be a comprehensive, strategic plan that uses baseline data to establish greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals with actionable mitigation strategies. The plan will prepare and adjust to the current and future impacts of climate change for the District, our employees, our riders, and our community. As identified in the District’s fiscal year 2024 Strategic Plan, the development of an Organizational Climate Action Plan is one of 13 priorities SAMTD has set forth for the coming year. The CAP is a tactic under the Community Value Success Outcome and is directly tied to data derived from the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 Community Value surveys.
