Specifications include, but are not limited to: The vendor will be handling old, unused, canceled, banned and discontinued waste. The contractor shall also be required to handle some quantities of unknown pesticide wastes. An attempt will be made by KDA personnel to identify the unknown wastes based upon information provided by the farm owner or appropriate representative. All pesticide wastes will be designated Universal Wastes-Pesticides and shall be shipped on a hazardous bill of lading. Most pesticide wastes will be in the original manufacturer’s container. All potential leaking containers will be poly-bagged. We need closed steel drums with twopiece tops. All the Universal Waste will be over-packed in vermiculite within 85-gallon over-pack drums or 55-gallon over-pack drums. Pressurized cylinders, aerosol products or fumigants will not be handled unless special conditions arise. The contractor will be required to send back the used 55/85-gallon overpacks in good condition (not rusted, punctured or severely dented) or like containers. The chemical is left in original containers and placed inside of the 8MIL thick liner in the 55- or 85- gallon drums. It is not in bulk liquid.
