Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Hawai’i Department of Agriculture (HDOA), Animal Industry Division (AID) is requesting proposals for developing a restorative aquaculture funding strategy – focusing on the feasibility of establishing a local blue carbon and biodiversity credit marketplace. This Project will identify the economic and environmental benefits for the state by examining existing restorative aquaculture financing mechanisms, including global blue carbon and biodiversity credit marketplace dynamics, and drawing insights from relevant successful case studies. Additionally, it will explore the potential of Hawai’i's participation in the blue carbon and biodiversity market and the market’s role in an integrated funding strategy to position Hawai’i as a restorative aquaculture leader.
