Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Base Bid: The base bid will be on 6,000 copies; 336 pages and will include the cost for a basic cover and end sheets. The book will be all color. Please include cost estimates for vertical and horizontal sizes. When material or product is specified by manufacturer's name and/or designation, it is understood that "or equal or better quality" will apply, whether stated or not. Such name designation is meant to establish the standard of quality. Any substitution offered by the offerer may be summarily rejected if it is not considered to be equal or better than specified. The offerer must obtain approval of the adviser for any substitution of materials. B. Inside Paqes: The inside pages are to be printed on eighty (80) pound number-one grade, with surface to be selected from staff’s choice of finish (gloss, matte, or enamel). All pages will be printed on both sides using the best quality inks. C. Cover: The covers of the yearbooks shall be furnished by the printer, and the cost shall be included in the base bid. The covers will be of the finest quality pyroxylin book cloth and will be lithographed in two colors. Also included in the bid, will be following option covers: Lithcote in up to three colors or lexatone material. Application of foil stamp, application of mylar, graining and embossing shall be included. Die cost will be quoted as a separate cost figure to be approved by the school prior to production of the cover. Cover items considered as extra cost items must be approved by the University prior to production of the book. The covers shall be constructed of 160-point binders board. The bidder shall submit samples of cover materials in a variety of colors upon request. Particular care will be taken to assure that the covers exactly fit the yearbooks. Two hours of creative/mechanical artwork by printer's artists will be included in the base bid. Sample yearbooks or company sample covers processed with the above features must accompany this bid in order for bid to be considered. The company is to supply proofs and mock-up proof of cover. D. All Color Book: The book is to be color throughout, including all photos and text. Any restrictions in terms of color, such as the number of colors allowed per spread, consecutive spreads, flat, etc., or specifications for submission, such as all photos scanned before submitting to plant, must be specified below. E. Endsheets: Endsheets will be school designated endsheets printed in standard colors.
