The El Rio and Ironwood Hills neighborhood paving project is funded by Prop 411 Better Streets funding. The project was selected by the Independent Oversight and Accountability Commission as a Phase 1 project. The project will also host a Prop 407 Bicycle Boulevard project, however the bicycle boulevard improvement is not a part of this project. This project will mill 2" of asphalt from the exiting roadways within the project limits, to be followed by a paving lift of 2" of PAG mix #2 (low volume) hot mix asphaltic cement concrete paving using a PG 76-22TR+ binder. The project has 8.33 miles of roadway to be resurfaced (approximately 168,000 SY). Additionally, 72 curb access ramps have been identified for construction to PROWAG standards.
