Landscape Design: • Develop basic concept design to help envision how selected plants will appear in the landscape and imagery necessary for obtaining approval from relevant authorities. • Landscape designs must have an average plant factor of 0.55 or less and may only include moderate, low, and very low water use plants, as specified by the Water Use Classification of Landscape Species (http://ucanr.edu/sites/WUCOLS/). • Landscape designs must include at least three (3) plants per 100 square feet. • Landscape designs must feature a stormwater retention feature designed to capture rainfall through infiltration or on-site storage for reuse, such as a dry riverbed, swale, berms, or rock garden. • Designs must adhere to Cal Fire’s defensible space guidelines and demonstrate defensible space zones (https://www.fire.ca.gov/dspace). • Craft a detailed landscape design tailored to the site, taking into account factors like soil conditions, topography, existing structures, and existing trees and other non-turf vegetation. • Ensure the design is in compliance with current requirements set forth by the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. • Ensure remaining trees and other plants are properly irrigated to maintain their health. • Conduct up to three revisions of the landscape design. • The final design will include a planting plan, irrigation design, soil management plan, and grading design...
