Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project will provide shallow rent subsidies for two years to seniors whose homelessness is expected to resolve with a modest housing subsidy. Participants must be informed that there is no guarantee of ongoing funding. The successful awardee should ensure that clients are also being added to low-income and senior housing waitlists, or otherwise pursuing sustainable housing, while in the program. The primary objective of this funding is as follows: • Assist newly or recently homeless older adults to find market or below-market non-income-based housing • Provide shallow rent subsidies to stabilize older adults in housing. Program participants should not spend more than 50% of their income on housing. Shallow rent subsidies should not exceed $1000/month. • Provide services in Spanish and English • Collect data to determine the efficacy of the shallow subsidy program
