Specifications include, but are not limited to: ACPD serves over 11,000 probationers with a department of 655 employees, 490 of whom are sworn peace officers who are committed to protecting the public’s safety by providing supervision, effective services, support and opportunities through quality training of our staff, which aligns with the County’s Vision 2026 Thriving and Resilient Populations and the Department’s mission, core values, and Strategic Plan: VISION 2023; Goal 3: A Vibrant and Exemplary Workforce, Objective 3d. Creating a culture of learning and professional development. The ACPD requires a broad spectrum of training for its Administrative Services, Juvenile Institutions, Adult Services, and Juvenile Field Services. Most classes are held on ACPD property at Las Vistas Training Center in San Leandro, CA. Qualified training providers are being sought with the capacity to develop and deliver face-to-face training designed to support the skills and knowledge of the ACPD’s workforce and promote the development of its professionals. Training content, where applicable, must be certified by the California Standards for Training for Corrections (STC) under the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC). All BSCC, County, and ACPD policies that pertain to specific training must be adhered to while incorporating evidenced-based and best practices. Bidders must additionally adhere to federal, state, and local training guidelines and laws. Training sought under this RFP are instructor-led and in a traditional classroom style format that includes lecture and/or hands-on demonstrations. Courses may be based on a certain number of hours/days, half day, full day, or some other defined method. Courses will include but will not be limited to the following: Legislative-Based Training. State of California Title 15 Requirements for local detention facilities. Federal, State, Local, and Department Requirements; Entry-level or basic training linked to specific job classifications within the first 12 months of the appointment to a position; or
