Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Environmental Tasks: a. Obtain necessary permits and approvals from relevant regulatory bodies, particularly National Environmental Protection Agency review. b. Conduct environmental evaluation, anticipate a Categorical Exclusion per 23 CFR 771.117, which may include but not limited to: i. Impact on local wildlife habitats ii. State Historic Preservation and Tribal Historic Preservation Office consultation iii. Archaeological impacts iv. Air quality assessments v. Compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations c. Develop strategies for minimizing environmental impact during construction B. Design Phase (Preliminary): a. Engage in detailed engineering and design work to advance the project to preliminary phase, up to 30% design if possible as funding allows. i. Roadway Redesign: 1. Assess current roadway conditions and traffic patterns 2. Develop design solutions that align with RAISE grant application proposal to improve traffic flow, safety, and accessibility 3. Incorporate features such as terminate Gathe Drive, design new connection to Foothill Blvd., and alignment of Kraft Road to N. Main Extension.
