Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Contractor brings their own dumpster, and all layers of the existing roofing will be removed down to the wood deck and hauled away. (Any deteriorated wood decking will be removed and replaced). 2. A 3' strip of ice & water protective underlayment will be installed at all eave edges and in all valleys. 3. New 90-degree drip edge metal will be installed at roof edges (rakes and eaves). A 12” strip of ice & water protective underlayment will be installed as edge metal strip-in at the eaves. 4. A synthetic shingle underlayment will be nailed to the remainder of the wood deck. 5. New asphalt shingles will be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. The new shingles will be fastened with six nails (not staples) per shingle. All nails to be galvanized, large-head roofing nails. 6. New galvanized metal flashings will be installed on all pipe and vent flues that penetrate the roof deck. 7. All existing roof/wall penetration flashings (including step shingle and L-metal flashings) will be reused, if possible, to avoid any unnecessary damage to be caused to the stucco. If these flashings are found in a condition unsuitable for reuse, all new surface mounted flashings will be installed as required OR new stucco pop-outs can be completed via a licensed sub-contractor (at an additional expense) as necessary. 8. New roof vents will be installed as necessary to allow for attic ventilation. 9. Roof ridges will be covered with new flat pre-cut hip and ridge shingles. 10. All roofing debris will be removed from the premises and the job site will be left neat and clean.
