The project will renovate portions of the 72,545 GSF Davidson Student Center, originally built in two phases (1968 and 1978). It will include approximately 29,000 GSF of second floor student service and activity spaces that have not been renovated (Student Life and Student Government Association office, auditorium, meeting rooms and general student study and lounge spaces). The scope will also include modifications for life safety, accessibility, code compliance and updated interior finishes and furniture. Adding windows would bring in more natural light and provide views of the surrounding area. The south entrance and adjacent terrace will be updated to provide a variety of seating configurations, shaded gathering spaces, and flexible space for activities and events.
