Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Load rating analysis of bridge superstructures, substructures and other structural components as specified by the Department. B. Load rating analysis of bridge culverts. C. Creation and maintenance of associated files and documentation for load ratings. D. Management of the load rating process. E. Training of engineers for load rating of bridge components. F. Evaluation of bridge structures for permitting overweight vehicle loadings and assist in developing reports and traffic control plans for oversize/overweight permit movements. G. Inspection in association with the movement of overweight vehicle loads, during emergency events, or to properly analyze a structure. Bridge Inspection is not intended to be a major part of this contract and will only be required if necessary. H. Assist the department in the development of task orders for preservation, rehabilitation and replacement projects. This work includes on-site bridge inspections, analysis of bridge inspection reports and load rating data, and final construction inspection site visits. I. Prepare and review bridge maintenance preservation and rehabilitation plans under the supervision of the State Bridge Maintenance Engineer in accordance with Department policies. J. One (1) to eight (8) full time engineers, at least one of which is required to be a Professional Engineer registered in Georgia, to work under the direct supervision of a Bridge Design Group Leader and/or the State Bridge Maintenance Engineer. The Consultant must provide this service for contract entirety. Each individual engineer assigned to this project must work a minimum of four (4) continuous months. Typically, work can be completed remotely but could require in office work at One Georgia Center at, currently located at 600 W. Peachtree , Atlanta, Georgia or at the Traffic Management Center, currently located at 935 United Ave, Atlanta Georgia. Other work arrangements may be considered, but would be implemented solely at the discretion of the Department. K. Assist the department in development and maintenance of load rating software, manuals, and other rating calculations as needed. L. Training for bridge inspectors of basic structural analysis principles and the collection and documentation of information required for load rating. M. QualityAssurance IQuality Control (QA IQC) during the contract. N. Other professional services related to the support of the GDOT’s Bridge Design and Maintenance Load Rating and Bridge Inspection efforts.
