Specifications include, but are not limited to: Certified Playground Mulch • Engineered Wood Fiber • Material used will consist of recently harvested natural hardwoods. All woods shall have been debarked and shall be free of soil, leaves, twig material and other contaminates which hasten decomposition. • No chemical treatment, dyes or additives allowed. • No recycled wood from pallets or waste wood is permitted due to the possibility of contamination and the risk of poor surface stability. • Anticipated Order = 2,500 cubic yards • Top off mulch to 2-3 inches of barrier height. • Mulch must be blown in using a blower unit that creates a consistent volume of air to disperse the mulch in the locations needed. • Pickup slide and swing mats before installation of mulch and replaced after mulch has been blown in place. • Contractor will cleanup any excess mulch that is blown on playground equipment with hand blower and/or rake.
