Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Contractor Name: Timmons Group Contract Number: 236300 Original Contract Total: $180,000 Current Contract Total: $180,000 Proposed Contract Total: $206,000 % Increase from Original: %14.4. Currently the data required to report on the multitude of federal and state initiatives and grant programs must be collected from many separate data sources and individuals across all branches of the division. This results in receiving data in different formats and metrics and having to translate and convert data into a standard format to be used to inform decision makers, law makers, federal partners, and the public. Currently other states, The Council of Western State Foresters, the US Forest Service (the largest source of funding for these programs and projects), and other federal partners are in the process of updating and upgrading their data collection and reporting systems. In order to remain competitive within the federal programs and continue to excel in securing available funding for hazardous fuels reduction, forest health, wildfire response, fire prevention and education, invasive species control and eradication, watershed health, and other key directives of the Division, Utah has a pressing need to improve our data and reporting system as well. The proposed tool would standardize, centralize and streamline this data collection and storage. It would include financial data, units of accomplishment, digital images, success stories and GIS data. This tool would be able to quickly provide updated information to the Utah Legislature and also inform the multitude of federal and state grant reporting systems and requirements as well as those under development by our partners. The creation of this tool is anticipated to greatly improve the visibility of Utah’s successful implementation of the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy, the Utah Forest Action Plan state and federal grant programs and the far-reaching benefits that result. FFSL would utilize this requested contract amendment to develop a strategy through a scope of work/discovery sessions with the additional requested funds of $26,000.
