Specifications include, but are not limited to: To replace a portion of the asphalt/brick walkway (Visitor Center to ECC) with new asphalt pavement. Requirements: • labor, materials, and equipment to remove and dispose of existing asphalt and bricks (approx. 670 SY). • appropriate preparation of the existing base (fine grade, water, compact). o The condition of the existing base is unknown. Please provide an option if 10” excavation and 10” of stone base is required for the entire area. • excavate and install 10” stone base in one approx.12 SY area to add asphalt portion to walkway. • Repave asphalt and brick area (approx. 670 SY) and new area (approx. 12 SY) with 2” compacted average depth asphalt pavement. • landscape restoration adjacent to new asphalt including grading, seeding and maintaining erosion control measures until turf is established. • Contractor is responsible for proper erosion control measures during project. • Contractor is responsible for blocking off and signing work area to ensure no accidental public access. • Contractor is responsible for cleaning roadways/walkways of mud/dust/debris generated during project. • Contractor must coordinate with Zoo staff to perform work between the hours of 7am – 7pm • Project is to be completed in 2024
