Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. The installer will expand the existing fiber network by using spare strands to install fiber optic cable down the highlighted paths of our base scope of work. Please reference attached documents titled “Base Scope of Work #1” and “Base Scope of Work #2”. Each number represents a point of presence (PoP) that the City would like installed. Each PoP should have six strands installed. As a potential addition to the base scope of work, the City would also like to consider expanding further down New London Road and South College Avenue. Please reference the “Option #1” and “Option #2” attachments. The base scope of work covers approximately 8,500 feet. “Option #1” covers approximately 6,000 feet and “Option #2” covers an additional 2,000 feet. b. The installer shall reference the Technical Specifications listed below and, where possible, use the recommended vendors, products, and installation methodologies. c. The installer shall identify Make-Ready work that is required for this project and recommend utility pole attachment methods. d. Perform project management tasks and installation services for Fiber and controls projects including overseeing the entire project from the design phase and/or contract implementation to the project’s completion, including construction/installation, electrical installations, communications installations, inspection, and startup services. e. The installer shall include all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the installation of a complete fiber optic communications cabling system including, but not limited to, new cabling, termination hardware, lightning projection modules, and other related equipment as required. The scope of work shall also include termination, testing, and labeling of the entire systems. The installer shall contact the City of Newark Information Technology Division prior to terminating any cabling within Telecommunications Rooms, so that proper layout of all equipment is coordinated and verified.
