Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1. Requirements: a. Barber/Stylist will provide hair care services for male and female patients consisting of haircuts, shampoos, styles and sets, or any combination thereof, as directed by Hospital from time to time during the term, except that the Barber/Stylist shall not provide services that use chemicals for permanent waving or curling of the hair: straightening hair or bleaching, coloring, tinting, or dying the hair whether the process involved is permanent or temporary. b. Haircuts will not be of any extreme nature that would change or alter a patient’s appearance without prior approval of the treatment team. c. Barber/Stylist will not provide shampoo only service to patients. d. Shall provide haircuts and/or beard trims as requested to each resident in assigned areas at least monthly, during the time periods specified by the agency to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to receive a haircut or beard trim. e. Provide services at Hospital on weekends or other days agreed to by the parties. The hours of service will be between 8:30 am and 4:30pm or until all patients needing hair care for that day have been served. Consecutive days of service can be arranged as agreed by the parties to allow for high numbers of patients in need of service. f. Osawatomie State Hospital will provide all supplies needed to perform services including but not limited to scissors, combs, brushes, sanitizer, clippers, guards, shampoo, towels, capes, and clips. g. Barber/Stylist must be knowledgeable and experienced in cutting hair of persons from various ethnic groups. h. Barber/Stylist must be licensed by the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology and provide a copy of the current license with their bid response and if awarded to Osawatomie State Hospital upon request.
