Specifications include, but are not limited to: When and as requested by University, Testing Agency shall collect urine, or other specimens from University of Tennessee-Knoxville Student-Athletes. This collection shall occur at designated location in Athletic Department facilities and be a direct viewed collection to ensure the integrity of the specimen. Specimen will be collected using all appropriate Chain of Custody (COC) standards and will be split into “A” and “B” samples at time of collection. The Testing Agency shall transport urine specimens from the University location to a testing laboratory for analysis. The Testing Agency shall be responsible for assuring that during transport and storage all appropriate precautions are taken so that the accuracy of the requested tests will not be affected. Testing Agency will analyze urine specimens submitted by University for drugs and other banned substances using industry standard testing methods. Testing Agency shall provide all test results to University via electronic reports made to the Team Physician, Director of Sports Medicine, or other University representative as may be designated by University. All test results will be quantitative and in written form and use a unique ID# assigned by the University. The Testing Agency agrees to follow appropriate procedures to protect the privacy and confidentiality of those being tested and will prevent unauthorized disclosure of information related to specimens submitted by University. Testing Agency agrees to indemnify, save, and hold harmless, the University, its officers, employees or agents from any loss, liability, claim, damage, or cost that it might incur because Testing Agency fails to protect the privacy of those being tested, or discloses, without proper authorization, information relating to specimen or test results, or because the Testing Agency provides inaccurate, or incorrect test result information to the University. Any urine specimen test that indicates a positive result will be confirmed by use of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) testing procedures, and/or liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) testing procedures. For any specimen that indicates a positive result, the “B” sample will be frozen and stored by the Testing Agency for a minimum of six (6) months, in case further testing is required. At the conclusion of all applicable testing procedures, Testing Agency shall dispose of any remaining specimens in accordance with disposal methods commonly accepted in the industry. The Testing Agency shall retain in its files a complete record of the tests results for all specimens provided under this contract, and these records shall not be destroyed until University has been notified and agreed in writing to the destruction. When records are destroyed, it shall be done in a manner commonly accepted in the industry which will ensure the privacy of those being tested. Testing Agency shall be accredited by either U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), American Association for Laboratories for Sports (A2LA), or College of American Pathologists (CAP). The following are tests requested by the University, along with approximate annual volumes. Respondents are to indicate the number of days to report the results to the University for each.
