Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Price Agreement will establish an on-going set of dates throughout a two- year period for Vendor to deliver basic and advanced training in Motivational Interviewing for first responders. Courses will be delivered live and in-person on a timeline mutually agreed upon by the selected Vendor and Agency once a recipient of said contract is determined. Initiation of instructional obligations will begin in 2024, depending on length and depth of process to determine Vendor. Selected vendor will be paid on a per-course basis which will be established through this process. This method of communication and interviewing has shown to be beneficial when interacting with individuals in crisis and communicating in situations that require verbal de-escalation. The essence of this contract is to establish a series of training opportunities for DPPST constituents statewide and will require travel throughout the state. An understanding of contemporary policing and other work in public safety sectors is required and should be demonstrated in response to this request for proposal. Vendors will be teaching audiences that include professionals working in corrections, parole and probation, law enforcement, telecommunications, and others within the public safety sector. This contract is being established to complement what is currently being taught in the basic academies as well as advanced training in crisis intervention, de-escalation, crisis communication and concepts of community-oriented policing.
