Construction engineering for the modernization of 0.2 miles IH 43 Safety Rest Area (SRA) 51 (northbound) & 52 (southbound) in the town of Maribel on IH 43 in Manitowoc County. Work consists of base aggregate, beam guard, common excavation, concrete pavement, concrete sidewalk, storm sewer, culvert pipe, electrical upgrades, permanent signing, sign structures, lighting, plantings, landscaping, building, and all incidental items. This project is broken into 2 construction ID's. 1225-10-72 is for the reconstruction of sites including parking lots and ramps and 1225-10-73 is for the reconstruction of buildings on SRA 51 & 52. Anticipate full time staffing includes a consultant project leader (engineer), and two support staff (engineer or technician). Anticipated part time & limited staffing hours include an architect, electrical engineer, plumber, and structural engineer to inspect building code items. Anticipated construction for 16 months with start in March 2025.
