Overview/History The University of South Carolina seeks a software solution that will serve the assessment needs for academic programs and administrative unit as required for the maintenance of the University’s accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC). The assessment system will support the collection and reporting of student progress learning in academic programs on the Columbia and Palmetto College campuses as well as the Schools of Medicine in Columbia and Greenville. The solution will also support the assessment of non-academic operating units. The solution shall support the assessment of four (4) major areas: 1. Academic Program Assessment – Emphasis on reporting student performance on learning outcomes required for over 300+ degree and certificate programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 2. General Education Assessment – Emphasis on student performance on the competencies acquired through the undergraduate core curriculum (Carolina Core) courses. 3. Administrative Unit Assessment – Emphasis on non-academic operational units that are integral to evaluating the effectiveness of our institution. 4. Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) – Emphasis on student learning and growth through engagement in Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELOs) and Engaged Learning Programs (ELPs). B. General Scope of Project 1. This purchase supports the classroom, research, and overall operational efficiency of the University. Assessment of student learning is a component of enhancing the learning experience in the classroom and in many of our curricular and co-curricular offerings. Assessing the efficiency of our operational units ensures that offices are allocated the financial and human resources necessary to support quality student learning experiences. 2.
