Specifications include, but are not limited to: Planter walls are to be brick-faced (running course) with a brick cap (header course) Brick colors are to match existing and adhere to city standards from Cherokee Brick, Pine Hall Planter walls should be approximately 12" above grade and backfilled with planting medium Where possible, each planter wall shall also incorporate an eight-foot section, which is 18" in height, as a seat wall, preferably on the sidewalk/merchant side of the planter. The planting medium shall be Soil3, supplied by Supersod or a pre-approved equivalent. Soil3/amendment shall be lightly tilled into existing soils to distribute evenly. All existing plant material, except for trees and all pine straw mulch, is to be removed Planter walls are to be constructed such that no tree, light pole, utility connection, structure, or permanent furniture will be within the new planting area Spaces that remain, such as around trees and light poles, will be designated with metal landscape edging and filled with 3' thickness river rock (medium-sized stone-Alabama river rock). Utility locations are unknown; An 811 dig ticket is required of the Contractor, but all safety and precautions should be made to avoid damages to existing facility utilities and infrastructure.
