Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Board is seeking attorneys, at an hourly rate, to take assignments as needed to investigate and prosecute a complaint before the Board. The contract resulting from this RFP will be with a specific attorney, who may utilize assistance from within the attorney’s firm at a reduced fee to the Board, including the use of associates, administrative professionals, and paralegals. The Investigator will work independently under the general supervision of the Board and will report results of investigations to the Board. If formal proceedings are instituted against a court reporter, the Investigator will present the matter to the Board at the formal hearing before the hearing panel and present oral arguments to the Supreme Court when appropriate. The time commitment varies from year to year, depending upon the activity before the Board. See Kansas Supreme Court Rule 304 and Rule 367, No. 9.
