Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Daily Duties – Tuesday and Friday 1. Sweep clean the entire tiled floor area paying special attention to corners, behind doors, then wet mopping. Areas include all hallways, foyers, lobbies, corridors, kitchen, and all areas under desks, tables. 2. Vacuum all carpeted areas, including private and general offices, conference rooms, libraries, etc. being certain to include those areas under desks, tables and other equipment. 3. Dusting all furniture and equipment surfaces as needed using a soft cloth treated with furniture polish. Clean all glass desktops with a glass cleaner. Damp dust all bulletin boards, map boards, tops of radiators, convectors, windows, and windowsills (inside), tops of cupboards, shelving, bookcases, filing equipment, and all other flat surfaces. 4. Each restroom will be sanitized and cleaned with a germicidal cleaning agent and a soft cloth; each closet and bowl/urinal will be disinfected with “Comet/Ajax” type cleaner and wiped with germicidal cleaning agent and a soft cloth. Mirrors, sinks, fixtures, tile walls, and stall interiors and exteriors will be cleaned to eliminate fingerprints, graffiti, stains, etc. Hand soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue dispensers will be filled. In order to eliminate odors, deodorizers (supplied by the State) will be used as needed. (Unserviceable dispensers shall be reported to the District Engineer or his representative.) 5. Empty waste baskets and from each office, room, lavatory, and kitchen area. Trash will be removed from the building interior to a dumpster or other container outside. No trash will be left in carts in the building overnight. (There is a dumpster in the parking lot). 6. Emoty recycling bins by kitchen. (There is a recycling dumpster in the Chestertown shop yard). 7. Wash, or use a “Windex” type cleaner on the interior and exterior glass surfaces of all entrance doors, glass partitions, glass panel doors, etc. 8. Wash, or use a sanitizing type cleaner, on all tabletops, counter tops, sink, external appliance surfaces and trash receptacle in the kitchen. B. Monthly duties to be performed will include the following: 1. Sweep Clean, Wet Mop and buff, with a high-speed buffer, all Vinyl Composition tiled floors with an approved floor finish. Any type of floor finish, such as watered-down “Mop n’ Glow” type material, will not be permitted unless tested and approved by the Administration. Steel wool buffing pads will not be permitted. When cabinets or furniture are relocated and marks are visible, the Contractor shall automatically clean and re-wax the area immediately. 2. Brush out all wall and door vents. 3. Add water to traps/floor drains in toilet room areas. 4. Clean shelves, floor, tub, and all other areas in Janitorial Closet. The closet shall be kept organized and maintained in an acceptable clean fashion. 5. Clean drip tray and external surface of water dispensers. 6. Wipe and clean all walls, shower stalls, toilet stalls, doors, chromium plate fixtures, etc. All chromium plated fixtures shall be wiped dry leaving no marks. 7. Dust/Damp wipe all shelves, chair legs/rung ledges, pipes, vents, radiators, convectors, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, dispensers, blinds, wall and ceiling corners for cobwebs, Spot clean doors, frames, trim, etc. 8. Clean wax and water residue from base cove moldings, cabinets, desks, doors walls, etc. Finished surfaces are to be protected from harsh, abrasive compounds that may harm finishes. 9. Empty cigarette butt receptacles outside front and rear entrances.
