OBJECTIVES The project consists of new concrete borders, curbing and tree fencing to improve the landscaping profile and remove tripping hazards within the eight (8) in-ground planters for the preparation of new trees located on the front side of the Glendale Civic Center located at 5750 W. Glenn Dr, Glendale, AZ 85301. 3. REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONS Please see Exhibit A for Concrete and Fence Requirements • Remove concrete curbing for eight (8) square in-ground platers to include: o Remove all vegetation and mulch o Break out the current exposed aggregate concrete borders o Excavate the existing dirt and concrete borders • Install new curbing: o New curbs must be 12-inches wide, 12-inches below grade and 6-inches above grade and must be placed/pumped 3,000 psi concrete o Set forms for new curb and install two (2) #4 rebar that are continuous o Install an expansion joint at the perimeter o The contractor must strip and finish the curbing • Once new curbing is installed the contractor must backfill and grade to approximately 10-inches below the top of the new curb • The contractor must clean up the job site once new curbing is installed. • Install new tree fencing/railing for eight (8) square in-ground planters to the following specifications: o The decorative fencing must be wrought iron and powder coated in the color of Raven Texture Mat Black o The picket spacing must be between 4-inches to 5-inches o The pickets must be 5/8-inch by 5/8-inch and installed with a foot plate o The 4-inches by 4-inches foot plate must have four (4) holes, one in each corner that are 1/2-inch in diameter and 1/2-inch anchor to secure fence in place. o The posts must be 2-inches by 2-inches o The top and bottom rails must be 1-inch by 1-inch o There must be one (1) walk though gate with lockable latch at each planter for maintenance purposes
