Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide to the City tubs specifically used for medical waste. When the full tubs are picked-up from the designated City location, the contractor shall drop off empty tubs to replace the full tubs being disposed of at the location designated by the City. The empty tubs shall be clearly marked for each type of disposal (sharps, medical, pharmaceutical, etc.). The contractor shall retain ownership of all tubs provided. Upon the notice of request by the City, the contractor shall understand and agree the City shall instruct the contractor of the location of pick-up and the approximate quantity of the medical waste tubs. The contractor shall understand and agree that the City’s Department of Public Health and Human Services requires medical waste pick-up and disposal services for tubs containing sharps containers that are filled with items used internally at the City’s Department of Public Health and Human Services. The City’s Department of Public Health and Human Services anticipates having two to three (2 – 3) tubs (approximately 28 gallons each) picked up twice per month. During flu season (September through November), this quantity can increase to eight (8) or more tubs per pick-up.
