Specifications include, but are not limited to: Cutting: All conifer trees less than or equal to 11” in DBH within the designated treatment area are to be removed. Chain saws will be used to lop & scatter within the treatment area. Cutting will comply with the following specifications: Cut and fell all live and standing dead conifer trees. No live limbs shall be left on the stump of cut trees. Cut stumps shall not exceed 6” in height. Cut material left on site shall not exceed 36” in length. Cut material will be lopped and scattered so that slash height does not exceed 24” above the ground. Live browse species shall not be cut or damaged. Established roads and trails shall be used whenever possible to minimize damage to patches of sagebrush and other browse plants. Trees identified as bearing trees, or any tree blazed or tagged to mark the line of any Government survey, shall not be cut or destroyed under penalty of the law. Trees with reference tags will be left uncut. Cultural areas of concern will be avoided. Contractor will be notified of these areas. No cut trees shall be left on Forest Service roads.
