Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Delaware State University is requesting bids for a partial replacement fire alarm and detection system for Wentworth Gym. The system shall be a point addressable, networked system with standard visual and voice evacuation audible alarms. B. The replacement system shall include several features as follows: 1. A selected area smoke and heat detection system provided on each floor as shown on bidding documents. 2. Audio and visual alarm notification devices as shown on bidding documents. 3. Coordinate and provide valve tamper supervision, waterflow alarm and fire pump supervision for existing sprinkler system. 4. All necessary cutting, patching and fire seals of floors and walls. 5. Replacement of all ceiling tiles for new devices and replacement for demolition of existing devices. 6. Demolition of existing devices, wire, conduit, wiremold, back boxes, fire alarm panels and associated equipment. Items fed from existing demolished system not marked for demolition shall be refed from new system. 7. All Demolition work shall include patching and paint of all surfaces. Wall plates will not be permitted. C. The new fire alarm system shall be completely installed, tested and accepted by the local code official and the Delaware State University while maintaining the current fire alarm system in place and operational. Upon acceptance of the new fire alarm system, the successful contractor shall demolish the existing fire alarm system in the areas as shown on the bidding documents. The contractor shall remove all devices and fire alarm panel with care to avoid damage and deliver the removed devices and panels to the University’s Electric Shop, Mr. Ronald Beaver.
