The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to obtain sealed proposals for the project titled “Developing a Sustainable and Resilient Remediation Strategy within the CBR4 Project Area” The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) has received funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to develop a strategy for sustainable resilient remediation within the Lower Christina and Brandywine Rivers project area. Understanding the vulnerability of hazardous substance release sites regulated under the Delaware Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act to sea level rise and planning for changing climate conditions when investigating and remediating these sites will provide decision-makers with information that is a) not currently available, and b) will allow communities and resource managers to plan for, and thereby increase their resiliency during brownfield redevelopment and remedial activities at contaminated sites. Funding for this project cannot exceed the $200,000 amount awarded by NOAA.
