Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Hartwell, Georgia has received funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of Georgia’s Community HOME Investment Partnership (CHIP) Program to perform single-family, owner-occupied housing rehabilitation and reconstruction services to homes in the Rome and Richardson Neighborhood of Hartwell (hereinafter referred to as “Housing Program”). The city invites qualified firms to submit a statement of qualifications from general contractors to perform housing renovation, rehabilitation, new construction and/or clearance and demolition activities for single-family, owner-occupied homes. Responding firms/individuals should be technically qualified to provide these services for local, state and federally funded projects. The intent of this solicitation is to develop a pool with approximately 8-10 qualified General Contractors (GCs) to perform owner-occupied housing rehabilitation and reconstruction activities, which will include project that bring residences into Building Code compliance and provide decent, safe and sanitary living environments. The City will request bids from the pool of pre-qualified GCs for each project and award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for each project
