In support of a modernized system, the Wisconsin Child Support program may be interested in implementing and operating a single-site, centralized mail service center to handle multiple tasks. This center would allow child support professionals, to focus on the most challenging cases and the needs of their child support customers. Any centralized mail processing implementation would require development of workflow automation and standardization to ensure the appropriate information is captured, read, date stamped, and routed to the right person for follow-up. Each item would be maintained for historical purposes and to meet record requirements. A work effort to identify what documents, if any, should not flow through the centralized mail center and an increase in the number of central print documents would need to occur. It would be unrealistic to think no mail would come into the CSAs, but most mail should be directed to the centralized unit. There are times when a CSA needs to send out a mail item unique to a participant’s case. The handling of these types of mail will not change.
