The University is seeking comprehensive proposals from interested Contractors to provide a broad range of produce, cut and prepared products, and retail packaged products via “Just-in-Time” Prime Contractor supply system. The successful Contractor must be able to delivered products six (6) days per week basis to multiple locations on the University of Maryland campus. Due to the “Just-in-Time” nature of this contract, the successful vendor must provide each dining unit with the proper product requested in a timely fashion. Produce must be inspected at the vendor’s facility to insure that the products delivered to Dining Services are of good quality and follow the grade guidelines in this solicitation. Product must be separated, by unit, on the vendor’s delivery trucks to insure product is delivered to the correct locations. Due to the volatility of produce products, the University requires the vendor to be proactive in suggesting substitutes when there are quality issues with products.
