Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Vendor: Spring City Electrical Mfg. The work required under this procurement request includes both the restoration of the existing historic light fixtures, including fabrication of new parts to match the existing historic parts that are missing, as well as fabrication of completely new fixtures that likewise match the historic ones. In 2018 a thorough search was conducted initially to locate suitable manufacturers. Spring City Electrical Mfg. has since fabricated the replica light fixtures for Tabor Reservoir 5 which were delivered in 2022. Any other potential firm would need to design and create their own mold for the repair and replacement of the light fixtures. The cost of this work in 2021 was $84,000 and would be even greater in 2024. PWB will realize significant savings (as much as $150,000) by contracting with Spring City Electrical. There is no guarantee another qualified lighting manufacturer can be found or would bid on the project therefore, hiring Spring City Electrical Mfg. is a more efficient use of time and money.
