The existing fire protection system is to be replaced in its entirety complete with a nitrogen generator system. b. The entire existing fire protection system is dry with dedicated compressed air. Dry heads are used in the heated occupied spaces of the building, as well at the attic/interstitial spaces. All existing piping is run within the attic/ interstitial spaces. All new piping is to be run in these same spaces. c. Include performing a flow test in accordance with applicable codes, State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Local Water Department. d. The existing square footage of building is approximately 7,500 square feet. This does not include the attic. e. See Appendices for floor plans, fire protection system plans, attic access hatch locations, and photographs. Note that the plans are not available in CAD form. f. Install cages where cages are provided in the existing system. g. If existing furniture must be moved to facilitate the work, coordinate with the State and the State will remove furniture. h. The existing attic and interstitial space above the Conference and Reception areas (see Floor Plans in Appendices) area accessed via 3 existing access hatches (see Appendices for locations). Include, if required, enlarging and/or providing new access points as the work of this contract may require, including any confined space access requirements that may be required.
