Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Vernal native aquatics program operates a fleet of four flat bottomed electrofishing boats. We currently need to replace one boat hull as it has reached the end of its safe usable life. It has several cracks, deep electrolysis and is generally dented and bent up from over twenty years of continuous use in a shallow river. This boat replacement is approved and funded under our Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program. These boats receive heavy use in a shallow and turbid river and as such, we require specific standards of construction. Also, our electrofishing boats need to handle and function similarly to keep long term trend data comparable year to year. Keeping our fleet standardized also makes maintenance, training, and general operation simpler than managing a mismatched fleet. While a suitable boat can be custom fabricated by another manufacturer, it would need to be nearly identical to our current boats to fit our existing trailers and needs.
