The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (the State Entity) is accepting bids on the Agricultural Meter Installation Project. The project’s focus will be statewide covering 14 river basins across the State of Georgia. The River Basins are as follows: Flint, Suwannee, Chattahoochee, Ochlockonee, Altamaha, Coosa, Ocmulgee, Oconee, Ogeechee, Satilla, Savannah, St. Marys, Tallapoosa, and Tennessee River Basins. Contractors should bid per river basin. The project will include new meter installations for groundwater and surface water withdrawal sources as well as new meter installations on pivots currently not metered. This project will also include repair and replacement of meters that are currently installed in the State and not functioning. The Contractor will be responsible for replacing broken or old propeller meters, replacing dead batteries, or retrieving meters no longer in use or installed based on previous assessments conducted outside this scope of services. In certain situations, the previous meter installed is not installed to manufacturer specifications, therefore the Contractor is responsible for retrieving the old meter, welding the hole shut and moving the meter upstream or downstream to meet manufacturer specifications. Finally, the scope includes on-site maintenance for meter sites including but not limited to installing straightening vanes, Signal Fire telemetry units, retrieval of meters, and battery replacements. The scope includes up to approximately 1,500 maintenance meter orders per year. The majority of meter installations within this scope of services will need to be completed between October 1 and April 1 with some installations occurring outside this timeframe on a case-by-case basis approved by the State Entity.
