The full scope of project work includes pavement cutting, removal and transportation to the Fremont Highway Shed (Town Shed) located at 113 Danville Road, material removal to access and remove the existing culvert, and trucking to the Town Shed. Installation of the two precast concrete headwalls and 75-LF of 24” diameter HDPE culvert. Backfilling the excavation to roadway subgrade and select gravels in 12 inch lifts and compaction. The gravel shoulders shall be widened to accommodate the proposed guardrail that will be installed by others. Final work area shall be restabilized upon installation of all improvements. The size of the work area is approximated as 70 linear feet of roadway reconstruction, approximately 75 feet wide (at the toes of the fill slopes) and 20 feet deep from existing pavement. (Current measurement is 19 feet from the top of the road to the invert of culvert.) The existing 18” stone culvert dates back many years and has recently failed. The scope of this proposal is detailed to provide information about the entire project, including what materials and work will be supplied by the Town. Successful contractor will need to work with Town Highway Crews to complete the work in a timely manner to avoid lengthy shutdown of the roadway. Oversight will be provided by the Road Agent and the Town’s Consulting Engineer. It is expected that the successful contractor will participate in a preconstruction meeting with the Town and it’s consultants prior to work beginning.
