Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The bridge pile jackets shall be custom fabricated fiberglass jackets manufactured from Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) and polyester resins. The material shall be UV resistant. 2. Jackets shall have the ability to be installed with no dewatering or disassembly of the structure in order to apply the jacket. 3. Jackets shall be available in various lengths and range in inside diameter (ID) from 20” to 60”. The following lengths are specified within the bidding schedule in Section VIII: a. 20” ID b. 24” ID c. 36” ID d. 48” ID e. 60” ID 4. Pile jackets shall be translucent in color. 5. Jackets must meet engineering specifications to withstand hostile marine environments. The following specifications and ASTM standards shall apply: a. Minimum ultimate tensile strength of 16,000 psi (110 MPa) as per ASTM D638. b. Minimum Ultimate Flexural strength of 25,000 psi (172 MPs) as per ASTM D790 c. Flexural Modulus of Elasticity of 800,000 psi (5,516 MPa) as per ASTM D790 d. Barcol Harness of 45 min as per ASTM D2583 e. IZOD Impact (notched) of 20 ft-lbf/inch (.04 J/m) f. Maximum Water Absorption of less than 1% as per ASTM D570 g. Relative Permittivity @ 60 Hz 4.40 as per ASTM D150 6. The Contractor shall deliver the materials to the specified address on each submitted purchase order.
