Specifications include, but are not limited to: All manufacturers shall be prepared, upon request, to fully explain how the body they offer meets the requirements set forth below. Packer blade cycle time from sweep to sweep shall not exceed (12) seconds total elapsed time when the body is empty or partially full. Packer must operate on the run. Packer blade cycle time from sweep to sweep shall not increase beyond (14) seconds as the packer body reaches maximum capacity. The packer body shall be 30/31 cubic yard capacity, exclusive of the hopper, fully automated and side loading, capable of collecting 1,200-1,300 households per 10-hour workday, 5 days per week. CAPACITY; A. The structural integrity of the body shall allow high density loading of up to 700 pounds per cubic yard of normal refuse and have a minimum capacity of 30/31 cubic yards, minimum, exclusive of the hopper loading area and the space occupied by the packer panel. B. The hopper shall be capable of accepting the contents of fully loaded 96 gallon containers in one continuous motion, without spillage over the hopper lip. BODY MATERIALS; A. Body design to allow for unloading without material wedging in body. B. Body sides shall be fabricated from 10 gauge hi-tensile steel with continuously welded bracing to eliminate water pockets. C. A roof of 12 gauge hi-tensile steel shall be connected to the body sides with integral full length roof rails to contain and dissipate the high density side loading forces equally throughout the body structure. D. All body panels shall be braced with 2” x 6” steel channel. E. Long members of 1/4” structural steel, interlaced construction affording maximum floor support. F. Back flow blades shall be installed in the body cavity to restrict the back flow of refuse into the hopper as the body cavity fills. G. Shall include easily accessible shovel, rake, broom, spill kit and wheel chock holders. NO UNDER BODY MOUNTS. Option for wheel chain hangers or bucket. H. Body will be fully seam welded. NO SPOT WELDS. The packer roof line shall be free of impediments which might snag low hanging wires and brush. Height shall not exceed 13 feet 0 inches.
