Specifications include, but are not limited to: Montana State University Procurement & Contract Services is considering a request to award a Sole Source contract to Valin Corporation for manually operated lift trucks, used for loading munitions in various aircraft. These lift trucks will be electrically modified to aid the user in the loading procedure. The determination of this Sole Source purchase is based on the following requirements: • An electric motor that is environmentally sealed and can operate in both extreme hot and cold environments. • Lift 2450 lbs and drive up an incline while loaded and unloaded to meet the U.S. Air Forces safety requirements. • These motors must meet the following operational and functional requirements: 1. Temperature operation requirements (-40 °F to 130°F); 2. Storage temperature requirements (-65°F to 160°F), 3. Water and dust protection (IP65 rating); 4. Continuous power-rated at 3.2 kW; 5. Hardened for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) • Must meet the following size requirements 1. Length 4.53” x Width 4.53” x Height 15.4”; 2. 30 lbs or less • Must meet motor power output requirements to operate safely (92 in-lb peak torque and 55 in-lb continuous torque)
