The University of Wisconsin-Madison, hereinafter referred to as the “University”, through its Purchasing Services Department, hereinafter referred to as “Purchasing”, on behalf of the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention, hereinafter referred to as UW-CTRI, requests proposals for the purchase of the continued services of the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line (WTQL) tobacco cessation services currently being provided to help Wisconsinites quit using tobacco. Services will be based on the recommendations contained in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Telephone Quitlines: A Resource for Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, the Community Preventive Services Task Force recommendations (www.thecommunityguide.org/topics/tobacco.html), the North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC), and the U.S. Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guideline on Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, 2008 Update. In addition to these guidelines, Wisconsin has additional requirements that must be fulfilled.
