Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of Bereaved Youth Support Coordination (“BYSC”) services is to assist minor children experiencing loss due to the death of a Family Member or other care providers to access public, private, nonprofit, and faith-based support services, including but not limited to, individual and family outreach, care navigation, and support for bereaved children and their families. BYSC services are intended to connect bereaved youth with existing resources to help them meet their physical and emotional needs associated arising from the death of a Family Member to minimize additional harm and other lifelong consequences associated with childhood trauma and maximize the bereaved youth’s ability to ensure they have the support and services necessary to process their trauma and lead their desired life in a self-determined way.
