Specifications include, but are not limited to: required for mixture preparation, transportation, surface preparation, tack or prime coats, spreading, leveling and compaction of the asphalt to a finished thickness of 1 to 1.5 inches thick in the areas specified, utility adjustments and clean up. Streets to be paved are indicated on the Paving Plan. Work shall be accomplished in accordance with the applicable portions of section 407 of the latest edition of the TDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Asphalt shall meet the requirements of section 411 of the TDOT Standard Specifications for 411- D mix. The paving contractor shall coordinate and schedule any milling operations in order to ensure that the areas milled will be paved within seven (7) calendar days, weather permitting. Unless otherwise approved by the Engineer, any area not paved within this seven (7) day period shall be subject to a penalty of $200.00 per day, to be paid by the paving contractor, until the milled surfaces are overlaid. Penalty will be assessed against the invoices received from the paving contractor. The total tons includes 500 tons for Developer streets. The Developer streets have not been determined at this time and may not be required at all. The City of Bartlett streets to be overlaid are subject to change. By bidding, the bidder acknowledges that quantities on the bid tab sheet are only an estimate and may increase or decrease during the performance of this contract. 411-D paving shall be paid at the contract unit bid price per ton, 411-D HOT MIX (IN PLACE), as evidenced by delivery tickets signed by a City of Bartlett representative. Delivery tickets must be presented at time of payment request. Estimated tonnage is 4,500 tons (City) + 500 tons (Developer). Note: Estimated Tonnage may vary based on budgetary constraints. 411-D HOT MIX (PICKED UP AT PLANT) shall include all necessary labor, equipment and materials required for mixture preparation and pick up at the plant by City of Bartlett Public Works maintenance crews throughout the year. Asphalt shall meet the requirements of section 411 of the latest edition of the TDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction for 411-D mix. Payment shall be made at the contract unit bid price per ton 411-D HOT MIX (PICKED UP AT PLANT), as evidenced by weigh tickets provided to Public Works at time of pick up. Estimated tonnage is 600 tons. 307-C HOT MIX (IN PLACE) shall include all necessary labor, equipment and materials required for mixture preparation, transportation, surface preparation, tack or prime coats, spreading, leveling and compaction of the asphalt to the thickness and area as specified, utility adjustments and clean up. For new streets, a 2” compacted lift is required. Prior to placement on new streets, the gravel or soil cement base shall be shaped to the required grades and cross sections. For parking lots, a 3” compacted lift is required.
