Specifications include, but are not limited to: SLOPE, SITE PREPARATION, SUBGRADE, AND BASE WILL BE COMPLETED IN-HOUSE BEFORE THE CONTRACTOR BEGINS WORK. HOTMIX ASPHALT: A hot mix asphalt surface course (stone seal mix with a maximum aggregate size of ½”) shall be installed on top of the stone base. Asphalt mix design shall be submitted to the City’s Representative for approval. The surface course shall be placed on a clean, dry base to a minimum compacted thickness of 2 inches (non-freeze-thaw climate). The asphalt shall be thoroughly rolled with a powered steel wheel tandem roller to achieve maximum compaction and to remove all roller marks. The final tolerance in the asphalt shall be 1/4 inch in 10 feet when measured in any direction. (NOTE The asphalt mix must be a virgin mix and must not contain RAP, shingles or other foreign materials that can react with water to cause blisters or rust spots on the surface.) REPAIR PUDDLES: Prior to the application of the finish surface, the area shall be flooded. Any low places which hold water deeper than 1/16 inch shall be filled with a patching mix. RESURFACER: Apply one or more layers of Acrylic Resurfacer at a rate of .05 to .07 gallons per square yard. This material is to be used as a filler coating to reduce surface porosity and obtain a uniform texture prior to applying the color. COLORED WEARING SURFACE: Over the Resurfacer apply a minimum of three (3) layers of textured liquid acrylic surface in accordance with the manufacturer's directions at a rate of not less than 0.15 gallons per square yard total for the coats (120 gallons for 800 square yards). COLORS: The colors shall be selected by the owner. TENNIS COURT LINES: White lines conforming to U.S. Tennis Association specifications shall be painted using 100% Acrylic Latex Textured Line Paint applied by brush/roller using masking tape.
