Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) Provide the Office of Materials Technology with all labor, materials, and delivery necessary to calibrate accurately; make necessary repairs to Nuclear Gauges used for testing; provide leak test kits; and calibrate Survey Meters as needed for testing purposes. 1. Leak tests and documentation of results shall comply with all applicable Maryland Department of the Environment regulations included in COMAR 26.12.01.01. 2. All Leak test results shall be reported in writing to: Vladimir Tanchev, P.E. 7450 Traffic Drive Hanover, Maryland 21076 within ten working days of completion. 3. Survey meter calibration must be to manufactures recommendations. The Maryland DOT State Highway Administration currently uses the Trox-alert and the Digilert 200 survey meters. 4. All Survey Meter Calibration reports shall be provided to; Vladimir Tanchev, P.E. 7450 Traffic Drive Hanover, Maryland 21076 within ten working days of completion. 5. All calibrations must be three (3) block traceable calibration. 6. Routine maintenance, cleaning and lubrication are included with each calibration. 7. Contractor must have capability to work on Troxler portable nuclear gauge testing equipment. 8. Contractor shall be licensed by state and or federal agencies to repair and calibrate portable nuclear density gauges and survey meters. A copy of said licenses shall be provided to the Administration upon contract award and at any time in the future when a material change is made in the license. 9. Gauge Calibrations shall be as per AASHTO T-310, (Standard Specifications for Transportation Materials and Methods of Sampling and Testing, part 2B Tests) and/or Troxler equipment manufacturer’s recommendations. 10. Gauge Calibration reports shall be provided in writing to: Vladimir Tanchev, P.E 7450 Traffic Drive Hanover, Maryland 21076 within ten working days of completion. 11. Contractor will ensure a 72-hour turn-around time on responding to and completing requests on all Repairs and Calibrations. 12. Shipping costs must be included with repair and calibration costs.
