Specifications include, but are not limited to: development and submission of a grant application to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Following a successful grant application, the applicant will carry out the awarded EPA grant agreement as a Statutory Partner and subrecipient of grant funds. Based on feedback received during an RFI on this topic and in meetings with a technical assistance provider, the City of Wichita requests proposals falling under Track II: Meaningful Engagement for Equitable Governance. Successful proposals will meet the objectives of the EJCC grant, build the capacity of the City of Wichita to connect and gather feedback from LIDACs on issues relating to environmental justice, and ensure strong public engagement during the development of a community Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. The successful proposer(s) will work with the City of Wichita to develop a grant application, create a workplan for community engagement on environmental justice issues, and create a training program to supplement the existing Civic Engagement Academy curriculum. Funding for proposals and contract is dependent on the City of Wichita being awarded EPA funding under the EJCC grant program.
